- No running, power walking, whoever gets the bear get the last business class seat. Gentlemen on your mark, three, two, one. (laughs) - Noooo! - It's mine.
Nooo! Economy Brian, economy more than six hours, here we go. - See you guys later, see you in Singapore. - Give some structure, lets do some exercises to get us energy back on the plane. - Okay. - Put your hands up and two hands together and now stretch and now turn to the left. Very good. - It will take us six and a half hours to continue to Singapore, we are expecting generally smooth conditions there's a bit of a jet stream just above us right now. So we're expecting maybe slight bumps but we are gonna stay way below the jet stream at 32,000 feet. And our final cruising level will be 40,000 feet today. We are expecting on time arrival in Singapore just before ten o'clock in the morning http://casino-games.my/list-of-online-casino-games/. - [Sam] So Captain, I'd like to know how many 787-10s Singapore Air will take this year? - This year we are receiving eight out of the 49 and we have started training of our crew and we have approximately about 80 pilots that will be trained by the end of May. (dramatic music) - We're just about five hours before we land in Singapore it's been such a long flight, it's been almost 24 hours from take off in Charleston and then landing in Singapore. 24 hours delivery flight has to be the longest in the world. Now I'm just working on some of the movie clips as you can see. (dramatic music) After about two hours on the ground in Kansai we were in the air again, this time everyone is awake in the cabin. T.V. and digital media started filming, reporters busy interviewing and filing stories. Another breakfast is served this time the catering is from Japan, I had a really delicious grilled salmon dish. (dramatic music) (speaking Japanese) - [Sam] Hi, David - Sam. - Hey how are you? - Good how are you enjoying the flight? I would rate this as possibly the best regional business class in the world. Now it's a huge leap up from what Singapore Airlines has had previously. We're looking at direct isle access to every passenger. We're looking at a fully flat bed and there are lots of other little touches I think that are fantastic about this seat, I mean for example, if you're working like I am here you've got this little power panel with two USB ports, and they're high powered ports. So, you can plug in a large phone or a tablet and charge it up. You've got AC there, you can put tablets and other stuff in this area here. I think there's another lovely touch here which this is Alcantra material usually used in high end automotive finishes, it's very soft. It gives you a nice warm comforting feeling if you put your head against it. But also it's good for noise reduction because instead of a hard surface that redirects the noise a soft surface like this absorbs the noise. - [Sam] They put it on sports cars. - Exactly, it's very common finish there, so its a lot of very thoughtful touches like that which make this seat come together really well. Look at the A330s, it's a two, two, two seating, and there are these sloping sleepers, they're recliners. You get to this, which has got direct isle access and a one, two, one layout and it's got a fully flat bed. That's a quantum leap for passengers, and again the longer the journey the better they're gonna feel about it. The happier they'll be. - It's so beautiful, thank you. - Thank you, it's so beautiful. - Thank you. - Thank you (aeroplane rattling) - [Sam] After more than 23 and a half hours covering nearly 11,000 miles we finally took the worlds first Boeing 787-10 to her home in Singapore. It was a very proud moment for the airline and everyone on board. That was my longest delivery flight record, I hope you have enjoyed the experience together and thanks for watching. (dramatic music)

- Perfect, so 787 is a family and as you correctly said we have delivered 650 which are -8 and -9 and what's so special about -10 is if you want to make even more money than you making with -8 and -9 this is the aeroplane. This aeroplane has about 40 more seats than the -9 and by that you can reduce your cost per seat. - I want to run the airline of the future it's called Air Sam Chui cause I have so many YouTube supporters and fans they would love to come on my airline. My airlines going to have a swimming pool a casino inside, would you able to deliver something like that?
- We can have Boeing do any thing as long as you have the right amount of money. - Oh right, would you give me a discount if I pay you with cash? - Absolutely, we always give you the best price that will give you the value that you can make money with. That is why we sold thousands of aeroplanes , because our customers enjoy it and our direct airline customers like you will make money with it. - Oh my gosh, I have $160 right now, what do I get Dinesh? - You can start collecting that you give it to me, I'll keep it for you and when you get more you come see me. - Alright. - Sam, welcome to our delivery flight as you can see it's not our regular flight. Today we are catering from Boeing. Tonight's dinner will be Teriyaki Chicken Beef Fillet, Grilled Salmon and Stuffed Portobella Mushroom. Which would you like for dinner? (dramatic music) - So guys, because this is a delivery flight everything is catered from Boeing and it's not the usual Singapore Airlines standards as you would expect as you would know. We got everything boxed and tray, disposable plastic knife, plastic fork but the food is good. I have the teriyaki chicken here smells very nice, key lime tart and green salad with smoked salmon as appetiser and a brown roll. (dramatic music) All the media members had a very long day since early morning with interviews and a tour of Boeing plant, so after dinner we were super tired and cabin light was dimmed for a much needed rest, I slept about eight hours soundly, before the breakfast service as we approached the other side of the Pacific. (dramatic music) - We have four choices today, the Blueberry Pancakes Ham & Cheese Omelette, Grilled Vegetable Omelette, and this is the vegetarian choice which is Scrambled Eggs. This is your ham and cheese omelette, it's a treat, enjoy. - It was quite a standard flight the plane performed flawlessly like it has over the last couple of days. A very smooth ride and a nice landing as well. The plane is a very impressive plane it's very efficient. We're quite impressed with it's fuel burning efficiency very nice plane. - Alright good to know, thank you Captain. - Thank you. - And how do you feel after flying 14 hours and 30 minutes on this beautiful aeroplane? - I'm checking my skin because Boeing Dreamliner is supposed to make your skin moist and the humidity is supposed to make it feel better. - You're getting younger I think. - I think you're getting younger, every flight you do on a Dreamliner. - That's why I'm ten years younger now because I fly so many 787 flights. - Local time 2:30 in the morning guys working very hard to deliver the catering on board. This is different now apart from our Boeing catering this is Singapore Airlines catering onboard. - 14 hours - It's amazing I slept for most of it. - Sorry excuse me gentlemen, Brian, Sam, unfortunately today we only have one seat left in business class. - Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait. - What? - But there's two of us. - I understand, I'm so sorry. - We don't fly coach. - I do understand, but I do have a solution for you. - Okay. - This bear right in the back of the plane now whoever grabs the bear first gets the last business class seat. - Oh it's on Sam. - The game is on. - Alright. So guys this is the one of the first race, because we are one of the first to sit on this brand new 787-10. Now Mr. Goh, the CEO of Singapore Airlines, he's gonna race it together with me, to recline, to see who get to the fully flat bed first, will win this, by the way, sir, is there a prize or something? - Your tee shirt. - Oh yeah, if you win I'll get you my tee shirt, yes of course. - If you win I'll get some other tee shirt, give it to you.
- No, I'm gonna get a first class ticket from you. - Ah, I see, okay. (laughs) - And also I have the referee here, and so, Mr. Goh are you ready for the race? - All ready. - Yeah you might lose the first class ticket again. - All right, here we go. One, two, three. - I think you're gonna win because you're smaller than me, oh my gosh. Yay, I'm-- - Mr. Goh. In fully flat position. - Together. - [Both] Together? - It's a draw. - It's a draw? - Thank you, thank you. - Incidentally to give you more space on the side, you press the button - Oh we can do this. - Yes - Oh, much wider. - You like that? - Guys, I like it because it's really flat, and it has this cocoon here, so it's good privacy shell. The delivery flight of the world's first Boeing 787-10 is scheduled to depart at 10 p.m. in the evening from Boeing South Carolina at Charleston. This is the site where Boeing 787-10 is built exclusively. This is going to be the longest delivery flight with flight time just under 24 hours. Hi. - Welcome aboard, sir. - Good evening. - [Flight Attendant] May I direct you to your seat, Mr. Chui? - [Sam] Yeah. - [Flight Attendant] Thank you, she'll care of Mr. Chui please. - Shall I take you? - [Attendant] Just straight across. - This will be your seat, Mr. Chui. - [Sam] Thank you. - Hello. - [Flight Attendant) Welcome aboard - To the left, to the left. - Welcome aboard. - Thank you, thank you. - Thank you so much. Thank you. Oh I'm going to lose my cardigan. Thank you so much. Service, that's service. - Across to your left. - Thank you, thank you so much. - Hello. - Thank you. - 14B, ma'am, seat 14B's across to your left. - Thank you. - [Flight Attendant] Need some help with your bags? - Oh no, it's fine, thank you. - Hey, welcome on board, World's first Boeing 787-10. Miss Carrie, 72 Julien, that's this way, please. Zack, oh my gosh. - Sam. - Such an honour. - Always gonna be in my shot. - 15D, that's a great seat. 15D is in economy. You're going economy? Singapore Airline gave you an upgrade today so 15D please turn left, Mr. Zack. - Thank you so much. (dramatic music) - [Sam] As you can tell already there are plenty of excitement on board the delivery flight. Boeing and Singapore Airline top management, suppliers, and media from all over the world are invited. Matt, what do you think about the 787-10? - I think it's amazing. You know, I've never been on a delivery flight before, so to experience this is quite surreal to me, and you know, these seats are great and as someone who flies economy a lot I'm very impressed by their economy class, too. - [Sam] Are you gonna fly economy tonight. - Yep, I'm gonna spend seven hours in the back of this bus. - [Sam] Could you share with us what the flying time will be to Osaka? - Today the winds are quite good, actually. Our plan is 14 hours and 25 minutes and we are cruising at mach .85 that's 85% of the speed of sound. We will be climbing to 32000 feet initially and along the way as our wind increases, we will climb up to 41,000 feet. - Thank you very much sir, I wish you a good flight. Special tee shirt for the occasion of this 787-10 Dreamliner flight. I'm gonna present one to the CEO of Singapore Airlines. Mr. Gho, may I allow you to present the special tee shirt for tonight's historic occasion. (dramatic music) The advantage of the delivery flight is you get to film as much content as you like for promotion. Of course you get to try out the new product and be familiarised before the general public. (dramatic music) - [Captain] Ladies and gentleman, your captain from the flight deck we are holding we will very shortly, we will be coming up north to Calgary and coming up north west and crossing into Canada and towards Alaska From Alaska over straight across to northern Japan, and touching down to Osaka. (engines droning) - Hi, thanks for the T-shirt. - Wow. - [All Together] If it's not Singapore Airlines Boeing I'm not going. - And with me is Mr. Dinesh and he's the Senior Vice President of Sales for Asia-Pac, so obviously he's very proud, he sold this aeroplane to Singapore Airlines. - Absolutely. - There's only one inaugural flight in the world and this is the launch 787-10 flight and we made history tonight on the way to Singapore. So Dinesh, what I want to know is why Singapore bought the -10, what's the difference between the -10 to the 787-9 that you already have over 650 flying in the world. |
